bounceinmystep asked: I'm an out of state Ag and I've been told that it's hard to get in as an out of stater but honestly A&M started as a back up for me, I didn't see it as a challenge to get in. I think the high percentage of in-state has more to do with tuition and the fact that Texans have a pride in being from Texas so more Texas students stay in-state. More importantly, A&M...

Anonymous asked: Being out of state doesn't make a difference. There are automatic admission opportunities for out of state students just like there are for Texas residents. For example, I'm from California, was in the top 10% of my high school, and have a Math/Reading SAT score of at least 1300 (i think that's what it has to be) and I was automatically accepted.

Anonymous asked: I'm an Aggie, and I can honestly say that no matter how picture perfect everyone wants to paint this school to be, it's really not. I feel discriminated against daily. Whether it's because I'm NOT a Republican, I'm NOT religious, and I'm NOT white, I'm a target, DAILY. I love and believe in the Aggie Spirit/Family, but it's really hard to think that when you...

creative-destructi0n: As for the anon, I think I know what they are talking about. I’m a sophomore at TAMU and all of my friends from back home call college station “Caucasian Station.” Though personally I do not see much racial tension per say, there is a huge difference in the racial and cultural composition of TAMU. Most, not all, but most students  are white, from a well off...

Anonymous asked: Obviously, you're going to find some racist idiots ANYWHERE you go, and possibly more so in the south. But I think anyone that's telling you that there's racial tension at A&M is someone who's never been a student or experienced this school on a personal level. Most students come here because they believe in the Aggie family. It's easy to stereotype A&M but I think...

atownaggie-deactivated20120106 asked: I also am a minority that went to Texas A&M. I was kind of nervous too at first because I am from the northeast US and did not think I would fit in at a school in "The South" but I loved every minute of my time at A&M and fell in love with the State of Texas as well. I was in the Corps of Cadets, which people would think would be full of racist/sexist people, but I saw no major...

Anonymous asked: I am a minority at TAMU and have never witnessed racial tension. The campus and everyone here is very open and welcoming to others, even to our rivals (despite the infamous rivalries A&M has, I have never seen people treating visiting rivals badly. In fact, I've seen people go out of their way to help them). So it's my opinion that, if there is any kind of racial tension going on, it...

Anonymous asked: I absolutely love Texas A&M but i'm so intimidated by the racial tension there that it has pushed me away and making me want to go to any school but A&M.

Anonymous asked: Howdy! So i've wanted to be an aggie my whole life and kind of slacked off in high school and now i'm a senior! My grades aren't horrible but I know i won't get in so I plan on going to blinn for a year. Do you think I can be successful at A&M if i begin to take charge and motivate myself in school, or will I fail due to not participating in high school?

As the lovely lelanatty pointed out, the “ask” and “submit” links were not working properly! I knew I should have checked when I switched themes!  Anyway, they’re working now so I hope to see submissions and asks in the future! Anything about Texas A&M or my relation thereto is perfect!  Basically, I love seeing so many Aggies on tumblr so carry on, and BTHO...
